The Garden
Garden culture: “Sow generously, reap generously.”
Growing on a little more than 1/8 of an acre at home and on a larger scale at The Sixpence wedding and event venue, the gardens are cultivated with minimal till, focusing first on healthy soil, healthy pollinators, and healthy plants. Specializing in flowers that are hard to import well, including ranunculus, Colibri poppies, snapdragons, zinnias and dahlias, as well as specialty and a gorgeous palette of rare cut flowers. Additionally, in the spirit of dreaming up truly custom flowers for Indiana weddings, the gardens host a breeding patch of dahlias, celosia, strawflower and zinnia offering truly one of a kind designs.
The Grower
Lydia Keegan
Helicopter Gardener
Somewhere along the way in 2020, I realized shoveling dirt made me smile, and I chased the literal and figurative breath of fresh air that is gardening.
Every aspect of the garden is pure magic to me: transforming clay soil into ideal soil, watching seeds grow, harvesting seeds, and of course, slowing down to take in the beauty of the flower’s face. The only thing I love more than flowers, is sharing them with others!
When not hovering over my garden, I’m taking care of our three kids, dancing, studying, laughing at our 2 dogs, and drinking coffee.
